Jasmine on the right leaning into the plowing job with Ace

Jasmine

Registered name: JENSON’S MONTE JASMINE

Born: 05/24/07

Mare

Jasmine weighs about 1850 pounds and stands 18.1 hands tall.

It is true she is our oldest horse on the Farm, but that does not mean she is “out to pasture”. She is no longer able to produce any foals as a brood mare, but she is broke to harness and was teamed up with Ace in 2023. They really make a great team as they are well matched in markings, but even more importantly they just work well together. If you judged each of these horses individual personalities and tried to use that assessment to match them up, you would probably never put them together as a team. It is a great metaphor for horses and life. “You never know until you try”.

She has produced two beautiful foals here at Hermann Farm, one of those foals is Jack. She is just like all good mothers, very protective and a bit bossy, but not in a way that is ugly or harsh. Sometimes just a look or a quiet movement towards another horse is all that is needed to get the message across that she is in charge.
